It was in 2005 that Lausanne succeeded Sierre and organized her comic book festival. 20 years later and for his 19e Edition, Bdfil invited several of his former guests of honor, from the very first, Tronchet, to the last, Tom Tirabosco. That of this year is Guillaume Long, gastronoma author who enamels his recipe albums. The expo dedicated to him therefore takes on cooking tunes, sprinkled with ingredients ranging from his first publications to winks which himself drew on the walls of the premises.
He likes pancakes and chocolate rice, but taste this year at the fondue. It is the famous Petzi bear, also exposed for a great opportunity: the release of … “Petzi in Switzerland”, on May 14! An album which should appear in any library of the country in the same way as “Asterix at the Helvetians” (which we recall that Saint-Maurice celebrates the 50th anniversary of the album’s release). In this new comic strip, Petzi spent the Jet d’eau de Geneva, visit the Pyramids of Vidy or the Château d’Aigle. We will talk about it again at the time of the exit with his designer, Thierry Capezzone.
The other exhibitions are devoted to manga in Francophonie, Poland, the profession of screenwriter, the authors of “La Lotche” visiting Brazzaville and a carte blanche was given to Dora Formica. Lausannoise, which comes out “certified human”, wondering about the Place de l’Ia, has the distinction of having installed, during the festival, its workshop under the platform arches 10, working under the eyes of visitors.
Beautiful brochette of guest authors this year, from the legendary editor-in-chief of “Metal Hurlant” Jean-Pierre Dionnet, via Jul, Gwen de Bonneval, Baudoin, Wilfrid Lupano (“Les Vieux Fourneaux”) or Benoît Peeters, without forgetting Anouk Ricard, Angoulême Grand Prix 2025. And obviously a strong Swiss presence, from Mara to Wazem, Derib, Fanny Vaucher, Bertschy and so many others. The full list is here.
In Bdfil, artists are not just signing, they wet the jersey by multiplying meetings, performances and workshops. Without forgetting concerts and performance, more than 80 meetings to find here. All lasts until May 18. www.bdfil.ch
