Each season, the “Star Academy»Highlights new musical talents. But this year, another aspect captivated attention: the candidates’ stage outfits. For the 2025 tour, the production called on the Evanbenjamin brand, founded by Benjamin Bühler and Evan Gusto. This duo of Swiss creators was entrusted with the mission of designing costumes adapted to the demands of the show. Diving behind the scenes of this artistic and technical adventure, where fashion meets the scene.
How was this collaboration born with the “Star Academy” born?
EVAN RIGHT: It all started during a parade that we organized last year. Juliea candidate eliminated from the “Star Academy” was present and shared our work on Instagram. The tourist stylist saw her publication, discovered our universe and immediately contacted us.
Benjamin Bühler: The same evening, she sent us an email to ask us for parts. Everything went very quickly! first, it was outfits for the premiums of the semi-final and the final, then she proposed this tour project to us.

What were the biggest challenges of this collaboration?
Benjamin Bühler: Everything was a challenge: limited time, the need to please academicians, stylist, production and artistic direction … As in any creative process, we had to face unexpected: a top to be rethought, pants to be sewn, and many other last -minute adjustments.
EVAN RIGHT: What was particularly stressful is that there were only two of us to manage everything …
Were you only two to sew?!
EVAN RIGHT: Absolutely. It was a challenge from A to Z, without any respite.
Benjamin Bühler: For the record, my mom came to give us a hand for a few days. This allowed us not to make white nights.
How does the design of clothing for a musical tour differ from that of ready-to-wear or fashion show?
Benjamin Bühler: During a parade, we create prototypes where the whole must be aesthetically perfect. On the other hand, for the scene, the finishes are secondary: the essential is that the outfit has visual impact and that it is resistant, because it must support movements, perspiration and frequent washes.
EVAN RIGHT: At the beginning, we had impeccable finishes, but the dressingist explained to us that it was not the priority. It is not uncommon for certain stage outfits to be simply stapled to hold the time of a show, and the public sees only fire!
Did the candidates participate in the creation of the outfits?
EVAN RIGHT: Quite. Our first meeting with them took place in Paris in February. We had prepared sketches and a selection of fabrics, and everyone was able to express their desires and choose their favorite elements.
Benjamin Bühler: It was a real collaborative work where everyone was able to give their opinion.

These two Swiss French -speaking stylists, among other things, dressed the participants of the program “Star Academy” on TF1.

Do some outfits come from your previous collections?
Benjamin Bühler: Yes, for example, Marine wore a glitter set from our 2022 collection. A last minute problem with one of her dresses led us to opt for this alternative.
What were your main sources of inspiration for this collection?
-EVAN RIGHT: In this type of project, we do not necessarily work around a specific theme. For this tour, we were simply asked to comply with two colored pallets: blue and silver khaki.
Benjamin Bühler: We therefore relied on cuts already explored, adapting them to the different morphologies of candidates.

Did you look at the “Star Academy” when you were younger?
Benjamin Bühler: Yes, I remember season 1, the one where Jenifer won.
EVAN RIGHT: Me too, but more occasionally. It’s fun to be part of the adventure today.
Is there an artist from the “Star Academy” that you would have dreamed of dressing?
Benjamin Bühler: Good question … Grégory Lemarchal, Jenifer …
EVAN RIGHT: Besides, we have already had the opportunity to dress Karima Charni, who now co -hosts the show alongside Nikos Aliagas.
Does music influence your work?
EVAN RIGHT: Obviously! We listen to music all day working.
Benjamin Bühler: We have very varied tastes, but music is fully part of our creative universe.

After this collaboration, would you like to explore other projects related to music?
Benjamin Bühler: Dressing Dua Lipa would be a dream! And why not put him gala… Even if it is a very closed circle and it doesn’t have much to do with music.
EVAN RIGHT: For the Met Gala, the brands must pay to dress celebrities … and the amount can reach 30,000 dollars! It is very difficult, if not impossible for small brands to be part of the adventure.
What artists or creators are particularly inspired by you?
EVAN RIGHT: Yves Saint Laurent, for its slender, structured and refined cuts.
Benjamin Bühler: We particularly like to play with contrasts, marked shoulders and deconstruction of the tailor.
What are your next challenges and projects?
EVAN RIGHT: Recently, we worked on the event Watches and Wondersfor which we made 154 combinations in two weeks. Our days started at 8 a.m. and ended at 2 a.m., a real marathon!
Benjamin Bühler: After these intense projects, we would like to take a little time to breathe … Finally, if we get there! (laughs)
