Four lots are recalled by the National Medicines Safety Agency. Patients risk “fatigue” or “balance disorders”

More than 30,000 boxes of a generic drug prescribed mainly to treat high blood pressure and heart failure are recalled in France due to a “Failure to print on the platelets (…) which can induce a risk of overdose”learned Tuesday, May 6, Franceinfo from the National Medicines Safety Agency (ANSM).
-“We were informed by the Viatris laboratory of a printing defect on the platelets of several lots of Lisinopril 5 mg scored tablet, which can induce a risk of overdose“, Written in a press release the ANSM. “The registration present on the aluminum of the brochure can lend to confusion, because it suggests that it is necessary to take several tablets on certain days. There is therefore a risk of error in overlying by patients”.
In total, four lots of Lisinopril 5mg, developed by the Viatris laboratory, and representing a total of 32,640 boxes, are recalled by the ANSM. These are lots 8172295 (box of 28 tablets on January 2026), 8189879 (box of 28 tablets expired in March 2027), 8172296 (box of 84 tablets expired in January 2026) and 8192737 (box of 84 tablets exploded in March 2027).
According to the ANSM, the risks for patients, in the event of overdose of this drug, are numerous, starting with a “fatigue”or “Balance disorders”, “Hypotension” et “An alteration of the renal function”. Patients are invited to bring their boxes in pharmacy.
