From Gironde to Compostela, Philippe Meynard will travel 1,143 km on foot

Philippe Meynard, former mayor of Barsac (Gironde), president of the association with all concerned, returns from Dakar in Africa Where he spent five days (from April 22 to 26, 2025), as part of “Africa Avc AVC”, with the ASP-AVC, the Senegalese association of patients victims of stroke and their families.

During this stay, Philippe Meynard was able to visit the new neurology hospital de Dakar who can accommodate up to 60 people – three times more than before – and the functional rehabilitation center which will soon open.

The old neurology hospital will be rehabilitated for the establishment of thrombolysis (dissolve the clot).

10 years later, he reparcourt again 1,143 km

In February 2014, Philippe Meynard’s life changed. He was struck by a stroke (stroke). He got out of it and leads today with his association a fight to inform and prevent stroke.

In May 2015, he started on the paths of Saint-Jacques-de-Compostela, from home to Barsac.

She will go through Captious, Mont-de-Marsan, Hagetmau (Landes), Orthez, Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port (Pyrénées-Atlantiques).

Then 830 km to Saint-Jacques-de-Compostela in Spainvia Pampelune, Burgos et Léonand a final straight line of 100 km to the lighthouse Fisterra.

In September 2024, Philippe Meynard started from the Sud-Gironde hospital center in Langon to perform 4,105 km in tricycle through the Iberian Peninsula.
