The world number 1 Scottie Scheffler won the CJ Cup Byron Nelson on Sunday in McKinney (Texas), signing his first victory of the season with an impressive -31 total.
The American made a final card of 63 (by 72), relegating his dolphin, the South African Erik Van Rooyen, eight blows. He thus equaled the record for the number of the most “low” ever played on a tournament in 72 holes on the PGA circuit, at the level of the Swedish Ludvig Aberg (RSM Classic in 2023) and the American Justin Thomas (Sony Open in 2017).
The lowest score record compared to by belongs to the Japanese Hideki Matsuyama, in -35 this year at the Sentry tournament (by 73).
Scheffler, Olympic champion in Paris, wins his 14th PGA title at 27.
