Twelve parliamentarians, mainly left and center, said, in a press release on Tuesday, May 6, that they will commemorate “The 80th anniversary of over Nazism and peace in From Algeria. They will participate “To the commemoration of the other May 8, 1945”specifies this same press release.

These parliamentarians explain in this press release that this displacement “is part of the working group launched on May 8, 2024 aimed at officially recognizing the massacres committed in Algeria in Sétif, Guelma and Kherrata on May 8, 1945”. And add : “This trip to Algeria must mark a stage in France’s recognition of its responsibility in these colonial crimes.” According to historians, several thousand Algerians from May 8, 1945, following demonstrations to celebrate the end of the Second World War.
