King Juan Carlos of Spain, 87, saw a peaceful retreat in a villa in Abu Dhabi. The former monarch has been a voluntary exile since the summer of 2020. The Gulf monarchs have opened their arms to the father of King Felipe VI, criticized precisely for his connections with the sheikhs and kings of the Middle East. Juan Carlos and Jackie Stewart have been seen exchanging not far from the Sakhir circuit, on which Australian driver Oscar Piastri won before the two British George Russell and Lando Norris.
