Alpine F1 scored an unexpected point in Miami after a difficult weekend, marked by a lack of rhythm and by a hanging for Jack Doohan in the race. Oliver Oakes, the team’s director, is trying to find a reason for satisfaction after the Grand Prix disputed in Florida.
“We are disappointed when leaving Miami, because we were not efficient enough to fight for the points. We do not leave empty -handed with the point scored during the sprint” positive Oakes.
“Pierre was not satisfied with the behavior of the car in qualifying. Given his starting position, we have made the decision to make changes on his car and leave from the lane of the stands.”
-“The announced rain did not fall on the circuit, so we tried to go up by bringing it back during the second virtual security car in this classic race on the dry. Even if we won a few places, it was only the thirteenth row on arrival.”
Although the team denied before Miami that Jack Doohan lived his last moments in Entone, the main team does not extend over the Australian weekend: “Jack’s race unfortunately ended in the first round after contact with Lawson at the first turn.”
Alpine will now try to progress before the first European races of the season: “We now have a little time to determine our areas of progression and return with more performance for the triple of European races which will start to Imola.”
