Having finished at the top of their group (B) in favor of 2 victories and a draw, the Atlas lion cubs are preparing to compete in their quarter -final of the U20 African Cup of Nations next Monday at 4 p.m. at the June 30 stadium in Cairo. Their future opponent was set this Friday after the last day of group A.
In the quarter-finals, the lion cubs will therefore face the Sierra Leone which had created the surprise by defeating the team of the host country, Egypt, on the score of 4 goals to 1, and by dominating Tanzania (1-0).
At a press conference, national coach Mohamed Ouahbi stressed that his protégés were going to take advantage of these few days to recover, refine his automatisms and correct the imperfections observed until then.
The stakes are high: a place in the last square of the CAN U20, but also, and above all, a ticket for the next World Cup in the category, awarded to the four semi-finalists of the competition.
