Benjamin Castaldi unveils his hand curved after an unlikely accident with a miniature helicopter. We explain to you in detail.
TV host Benjamin Castaldi, well known to the general public, was recently the victim of an accident as surprising as it is painful. It was by manipulating a remote -controlled helicopter at his home that the unfaithful animator has imposed a serious injury in his hand. This even required emergency hospitalization.
True to his spicy humor, Benjamin Castaldi chose to share the incident on Instagram, mixing self -mockery and messages addressed to his subscribers, benevolent as critical. Far from the television sets, it was at home that Benjamin Castaldi experienced a surreal scene worthy of a sketch … if there had been pain and stitches to the key. On May 2, 2025, while he was testing a miniature helicopter, the machine would have made a poorly controlled loop before crashing violently on his hand.
He looked at me (yes, I’m sure he looked at me), made a looping … and rushed to me as if I had insulted his mother.
This light tone does not however mask the severity of the injury: the former animator was admitted urgently to the North CHU of Marseille, then transferred to the Timone hospital. On the spot, the doctors had to intervene quickly to sew his seriously affected fingers. Benjamin Castaldi evokes an “exploded hand” and an “ego in crumbs”.
“They gave me faith in humanity,” he said. The diagnosis is clear: the injury is serious, but the care has been effective. Despite the pain and the shock, Benjamin Castaldi preferred to make this episode a moment of sharing, not without self-irony. On Instagram, he published an impressive photo of his hand, visibly swollen and marked by stitches, especially on the middle finger. The cliché illustrates the violence of the impact, unexpected for a simple toy. This domestic accident recalls that certain apparently harmless objects can be much more dangerous than it seems.

Benjamin Castaldi did not only reveal his injured hand: he also offered his subscribers a real lesson in image management and online communication. On Instagram, he posted two striking photos: first that of the famous miniature helicopter, then that of his pungible hand. In legend, a scathing joke:
Why should you never offer a helicopter toy to a child? Because after five minutes … He no longer has a finger on the situation!
One way for him to defuse the incident with humor, while assuming his role as a public character who does not take himself too seriously. This publication has aroused a wave of various reactions.
