In the midst of the mountains of northern Morocco is Chefchaouen, a medieval town more known by another name: the blue city. And for good reason, the inhabitants decided to paint everything in blue: walls, doors, windows, but also fountains, mosques or restaurants, even carpets and taxis. A curiosity that attracts visitors around the world. Among them, many French people. “This city, it looks like a watercolor. It’s really beautiful”launched a tourist who played the game by dressing while blue.
“We use this color which comes from volcanic stone. It is from Nila. Stones that come directly from the desert and we bring them to Chefchaouen. We also use this blue because it is an anti-mosquito, other people say that it is protection against bad mind”, explained a guide to Australian tourists.
