And the daily “Al -Sabah” in its issue on Friday, April 18, 2025, said that this warning comes at a time when a number of official sites are witnessing piracy attacks, which increased the concerns associated with digital security.
One of the banking institutions explained that fraudulent hunting is a deception method that depends on fake emails, often full of linguistic errors, bearing the nature of urgency, and pushing customers to provide their sensitive information such as entry data or bank data.
The banking institution emphasized that prevention begins with not interacting with such messages or clicking on suspicious links, with the need to contact the service of customers in the event of doubt.
In the same context, cybersecurity experts warned against launching pirates for advanced malicious software targeting smartphones, specifically banking applications, as these software allows the ability to spy on data and steal sensitive information once installed on the user’s device, whether through unreliable downloads or via fake email attachments.
These viruses record key strikes and direct access to bank accounts, as well as the new copies of them are characterized by the feature of moving from one phone to another through fake links that are sent via messaging applications and appear as if they are sent from reliable parties such as friends or family.
-A number of bank customers recently received phone calls and electronic messages from people who impersonate banks in an attempt to defraud and steal their bank data, and customer confidence is exploited to persuade them to disclose secret information or carry out financial measures exploited by pirates later to withdraw full funds to accounts.
These attacks in particular target banking applications in mobile phones, as multiple cases were recorded in which money was withdrawn in complex ways that ended with exposing wide fraud, and although many bank account users depend on complex passwords, pirates take advantage of the phone numbers associated with these accounts to penetrate them more easily.
Although banks provide advanced security protection for their digital services, these institutions remain within the target circle by pirates who resort to exploiting any loophole or negligence in protecting data, which led these institutions to directly warn and communicate with customers to avoid a victim of any fraud.
