Three days after attending a military parade, the royal family ended up in the heart of London this Thursday, May 8. King Charles III and Queen Camilla led the procession of crowned heads which joined the benches of the Westminster Abbey where a mass was given on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War.
The royal family gathered before the tomb of the unknown soldier by observing a minute of silence. The king and his eldest son then advanced towards the stele to deposit wreaths. At the end of the Grace Action Service, the royal couples in turn left flowers in front of the memorial of the innocent victims (innocent victim ‘Memorial) drawn up in front of the western door of the abbey.
In tribute to her father, Queen Camilla had pinned her jacket on the setback of her 12th throws on the back of her jacket, the regiment in which had served Bruce Shand During the war. The royal couple were surrounded by Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton. Tonight, King Charles III and Queen Camilla are expected on Place du Horse Guards Parade to attend a concert. An evening punctuated, to the delight of the Queen, of a performance of the dancers of Strictly Come Dancing (the British version of Dance with stars), program of which she is fond.
