Stéphane Plaza was arrested on Monday evening as part of an investigation for drug trafficking carried out by the judicial police in Seine-Saint-Denis, the public prosecutor said on Tuesday afternoon.
The TV host, sentenced in February for domestic violence, was arrested at his home in Bougival (Yvelines), according to the newspaper Le Parisien.
Two other people were placed in police custody as part of the procedure, the prosecution added.
-The conviction, on February 18, to one year in prison suspended from Stéphane Plaza, for recurring domestic violence on a former companion, tarnished the image of the animator and his brand.
The real estate agent disputes this court decision and an appeal trial will take place.
Aged 54, Stéphane Plaza became a star when M6 propelled him in 2006 at the head of the program “Research apartment or house”, followed by “house for sale” (2007) or “hunters of apartment” (2015).
The chain deprogrammed its programs after the February judgment.
In addition, real estate agencies of the Stéphane Plaza France franchise network can choose to change its name for a new brand that this company plans to launch, without deleting the name of the sentenced show.
