Patrick Bruel: Domaine de Leos

The actor and engaged in the field of Leos, located east of Avignon, on the Margoye set, near Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, at the crossroads of Lubéron, Mont Ventoux and Alpilles. “This Leos project, that we live with my daily teams, is above all for me a great human adventure nourished by passion, sharing and friendship,” notes the artist.

The area has 41 hectares, 13 of which are devoted to wine culture. The main grape varieties are Grenache, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault and Vermentino (Rolle), as well as an old Carignan vine. Olive oil, jams, truffle, honey and confits are also produced with wild thyme and lavender. Leos also offers cosmetic .

Leos Cuvée Augusta wines are designed in collaboration with Nicolas Jaboulet de Maison & Domaines Les Alexandrins in Tain-l’Hermitage (Rhône). The Augusta rosé cuvée was launched in 2022. This very fresh and typically Provençal rosé is available in Luxembourg in supermarkets (cactus) at the current price of 13.90 euros. There is also a white Augusta, not marketed in Luxembourg but available on the Domaine website.

Cabrel: Domaine du Boiron

25 years ago, singer Francis Cabrel the Domaine du Boiron, located in the town of Astaffort, in Lot-et-Garonne, at the gates of Gascogne. His brother Philippe manages the domain which cultivates vines on 11 hectares conducted in organic farming.

The grape varieties are typical of the region, in particular the Tannat, known for its robustness when it is , but for its remarkable ability to improve over time. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec complete the grape varieties. The field produces rated wines under the name of Brulhois, authentic and reflecting their land.

The wines of the Boiron estate are available in different cuvées, mainly red. They are not imported directly in Luxembourg, but are available via the site www.leboiron.be.

Gérard Depardieu: Tigné Castle

Huge actor, star of many successes at the box office, of the César, Gérard Depardieu is a flagship figure in the history of cinema, but also a controversial character, who is the subject of legal proceedings for sexual assault on several .

Gérard Depardieu is very active in the of wine. In 1989, he invested in the Château de Tigné, located in the Loire Valley, halfway between Angers and Saumur. The estate extends over 95 hectares in total.

The vines are cultivated according to the principles of organic farming in a sustainable approach. The property offers five wines, some of which benefit from the Anjou appellation: a 100 % Cabernet Franc, a Cabernet Sauvignon, a Pinot Noir and a Syrah, as well as an assembly of the two Cabernets. Two rosés complete the range, as well as four whites, two Chardonnays and two Chenins. All of these wines are available on site and trade in France.

Carole Bouquet: Golden Blood

We head south of . Pantelleria is a small island of 83 square kilometers of volcanic origin, located between Sicily and .

It is in contrada Serraglio, here, that the French actress Carole Bouquet produces, in collaboration with winemakers and local oenologists, a nectar from the Muscat grape of Alexandria, here Zibibbo. Sangue d’Oro comes from gruff grapes, who dried two to three weeks under the sun after picking. “We only produce 5,000 bottles per year of the Sangue d’Oro cuvée, taking the ,” said the estate, Azienda Serraglia.

This ultra -concentrated wine reveals aromas of confit apricot and mango, citrus and honey. Like all the great sweet wines, Sangue d’Oro is aging very well, for 20 to 30 years. Offered in 50 centilitres bottles, the 2014 vintage is currently available in Luxembourg at nearly 54 euros via the Wengler Châteaux & Domains website.

Pierre Richard: Château Bel Bishop

Let’s go back to France, more precisely in Languedoc-Roussillon, where the actor Pierre Richard (the mustard rose to the nose, the goat), fell in with the Belé bishop castle, about 40 years ago.

This area extends over 50 hectares of garrigue and vines, southwest of Gruissan, in the name Corbières, and was once the property of the bishops of Narbonne. There are red wines from the Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah and Carignan grape varieties, as well as rosés and whites. The vineyard is qualified in reasoned farming, close to organic farming.

Wines have long been distributed in Luxembourg, especially on the Wengler site.

Luke Besson: ALQUIER and SENANA DOMAINES

The director Luc Besson (author of “Le Grand Bleu”, “The 5th element” and “Léon”) is the owner of two wine -growing areas.

He invested in the Alquier field, in the Pyrénées-Orientales. This small three hectare area is located at 160 meters above sea level and produces wines under the protected original appellations (AOP) Faugères and Saint-Chinian. He also has in the Senaux in Mézeilles, 30 kilometers north-west of Béziers, where he produced a red wine typical of Hérault with an assembly of Syrah, Mourvèdre and Carignan.
