The world of cinema is not always all pink. Valérie Lemercier is playing the film Do we love alivewith Gérard Darmon, in theaters this Wednesday, April 16. For the occasion, the actress was invited to the podcast Small Talk from Konbini. She returned to the set of Visitorsthe cult comedy released in 1993 by Jean-Marie Poiré, where she played Béatrice Goulard de Montmirail. An experience that deeply marked him and pushed him to refuse to shoot in the second part.

“We hadn’t treated you very well on the shooting of visitors, can you tell this moment? They were really humiliating things”, First launched David Castello-lives to the actress. Valérie Lemercier then said she had no lodge during the film. “Me, I think you have to leave everyone a space. For example, I was not known enough so I had no lodge so the days when I was not turning, the moments when I was not running, I was delivered to myself. I had no small place to fold”said the 61 -year -old actress before adding: “And when on films now where I obviously have a lodge and I see actors, actresses who do not have them, it makes me crazy because I say to myself, you have to have a small place to yourself, even small, but it’s very important”.

Valérie Lemercier then mentioned the remarks she received during the shooting of Visitors. “I played and I heard my colleagues said that I was playing badly or things like that”she said. A bad experience which therefore prompted him to refuse to play in the Visitors 2. “This is the reason why I did not make an effort to make the number two. It was not idyllic, it was complicated, but it does not detract from this film which is very funny, but it was not the happiest shooting for me”said the actress. For her role, Valérie Lemercier was elected best actress in a supporting role by the Academy of César in 1994. “I felt like I was an orphan and be the only one to have something. I would find that I was not part of their band. (…) It is not revenge”she concluded.
