Let’s regain control of our lives!

I have not seen the Outards come back this year. Outards or geese, I never know. Each , every fall, their air choreographies mark the inevitable passage of the seasons. In Ahuntsic, we have the turkeys, a , rats, and we are in the axis of the flight track of the geese.

There is something reassuring, greater than us in these majestic V in the sky. When I hear these celestial barking, I run outside and, my eyes raised, I look for birds. I am every time dazzled and peaceful: the course of time continues, irrevocable, despite the raging and our torments.

This spring, therefore, I have neither seen nor heard the geese.

There was indeed a couple of Malards who came to regain strength in the right -wing neighbor’s pool, but not from these wild flask of the voliers.

At , I told myself that the bird route had suddenly changed.

After a short reflection, I understood that I was the problem.

All concentrated on the temperate of the south of the border, screwed to my screens, riveted to the gestures and the statements of the American president, in the Canadian electoral , I neglected to look at the sky. I missed the spectacle, however present of the awakening nature, of my faithful Outards.

In fact, obsessed with Trump and the news, I missed a lot.

I’m not the only one. I believe to be generalized this voluntary suspension of our ability to envisage several realities at the same time, in times that run.

Trump threw a spell on us, he obsessed us. We were consenting. We follow his daily vituperations to the point of having made it the almost exclusive subject of our , the question of the urn.

We forgot to talk about us, to be interested in us. Bankruptcies, corporate shipwrecks, northvolt with electric lion, subsidized with phenomenal height by a government of accountants. Companies in which the Legault government saw Salvation et Avenir. From the scathing discount of Quebec by the Standard & Poor’s rating agency, minimized by the Prime Minister, who will have consequences on our borrowing capacities, and which is a spectacular slap.

The massive influx of migrants in an irregular situation is almost a non-subject. However, the infamous ICE brigades which terrorize the States the legal migrant populations become our problem. Are we talking about it? Little, very little …

Are we still talking about the SAAQ nameless ? No ? I asked, for a friend …

There was this on the raised car in Vancouver, against the Philippine community. Once the thesis of the terrorist attack has been excluded, the sigh of collective relief emitted, we turned the eye towards something else. We could have taken advantage of it to be interested in this community, what drives it. No. Next !

Maisonneuve-Rosemont

A local failure, due to a very circumscribed thunderstorm, farted the windows of the Maisonneuve-Rosemont hospital (HMR) and suspended surgical interventions in this crucial establishment for the health and life of hundreds of thousands of citizens of Montreal and regions. Already that HMR was dilapidated and dilapidated, here it becomes dangerous for the very life of the patients that he is supposed to treat: his generators did not . The intrigues of STATit’s from Pass-sharenext to that.

We are in Quebec, in 2025. But the government has allowed the situation to rot, insensitive to alarm signals. There are only few votes to go for him in the east of Montreal, and we look elsewhere. Hold, STATFor example.

What I mean is that we are absent from ourselves.

Miscellaneous facts swarm, they are social facts. They remind us of order. Our system is very hooked. Our social and political stories bother us. All our attention is rather turned south. I am not saying that Trump and his multiple decrees do not matter about us. We are, like the rest of the planet, greatly dependent, and for a long time. It is inevitable.

But let’s regain control of our lives, our business, on our own news. We are as hypnotized. Let’s try to come back a little.

Appearance of the first spring buds, rue St-Hubert, in Montreal

Let’s look a little more, act locally, individually and collectively. Let us come out. Let us be interested in what surrounds us, constitutes us, nourishes us.

I write these lines at 5 a.m. Nature is about to up. The gray of the night is regressing. The birds give a disorderly and fabulous concert. I detect the merle and cardinal which emerge from this sound tablecloth of cakes, chirping, whistles. Maybe even a Huard, towards the . Two large row rares have just crossed the street, rolling mechanics. I listen to and be silent, delighted by this grace.

I missed the Outards this year, but I will not miss the hatching of the leaves. And you ?What do you think? part in the dialogue
