The National Council of the New Democratic Party (NPD) will meet on Monday evening to choose its acting chief.

Jagmeet Singh announced the election evening, a week ago, which he resigned as soon as a acting chief would be chosen.

The presence of the NPD in Parliament was reduced to only seven seats during the April 28 and the training no longer has the official party .

Two party officials claim that the NPD caucus met twice week to discuss who will run the party until the end of the leadership race.

Mr. Singh is part of the dozen neodemocratic deputies defeated during one of the worst electoral results of the party.

Former deputy Charlie Angus claims that the NPD has lost contact with his base supporters and focused too much on the personality of the chief.

The NPD Albertain also voted massively this weekend in favor of the possibility for its members to escape compulsory membership in the federal party when registering at the provincial level.
