According to a recall notice published Thursday by the American Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the Ninja Food Op300 Series multifunctional self -buyers are equipped with a cover that can be opened during use. This can cause hot content leakage, which has serious risk of burns.
Sharkninja received 106 burning reports in the United States, including more than 50 burning reports in the second or third degree in the face or body, according to the CPSC, which adds that 26 prosecutions were brought after these reports. No other accident has been reported in Canada, according to a Health Canada notice.
“The security of our customers is an absolute priority for Sharkninja,” said the company in a statement sent to the Associated Press, adding that it was recalling in order to respond to consumer reports.
Health Canada recommends “immediately ceasing to use the Ninja Foodi Multicisor Cooking Function Recalled and throwing the existing pressure cooking cover to avoid use”.
The government agency also suggests contacting Sharkninja, a Massachusetts company, to obtain a free replacement cover. However, it is possible to continue to use the other functions of the self -buyers, in particular the hot air frying, which are not affected by the recall.
To get a new cover, “you do not need to bring your device to the place where you bought it,” said the Sharkninja website, adding that all replacements related to the recall will be treated online.
The multicisors were made in China and sold between January 2019 and March 2025 at large retailers like Walmart, Costco, Sam’s Club, Amazon and Target, as well as on Ninjakitchen.com, for around $ 200. The word “ninja” is printed on the front of products.
Consumers can also check whether their multicuker is affected by consulting the label. The model numbers concerned are indicated on Thursday’s recall notices. About 1,846,400 of these multi-skiders were sold in the United States and 184,240 in Canada, in addition to certain covers previously distributed as spare parts.
