Do you like music, beer, good humor and pebble engines? So Rock’n Solex is for you. The festival begins today with a fest-noz, and continues until Sunday.
Since 1967, the Rock’N Solex festival has vibrated the plain of INSA, an engineering school on the Beaulieu campus. This makes the event the oldest French student festival in France. A simple Solex race at the start, since the 1980s, a recognized festival, which attracts headliners such as Asian Dub Foundation, Alpha Blondy, Girls in Hawaii, Skip The Use, Zebda or Ska-P. In total, 120 INSA students are on deck, supported each evening of a hundred volunteers.
On the rock side program
The festivities begin this Wednesday, May 7 with a fest-noz hosted by four artists. « The evening will be hosted by Blain/Leyzour, Fag+, Modkozmik and Youniver. Maela Hag Anouk Aussrera les inter-scènes »explains Simone canon, communications manager of this 58e edition. « UDo not initiation Breton dance will be offered from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. by the Breton dance section of ASCREB »she says.
-The Insa Foyer will host its rock evening on May 8, then the two scenes (including one sub -marquee) of the Plaine de l’ISA will be the scene of two nights on May 9 and 10. « For example, we will find the electro-rock of O-Dodod, the rap of Genezio, the Pop of Zélie or the Celtic Punk of the Menhirs of the Menhirs on Friday. Then again the Hip Hop of Uzi, the Synthwave of Do Not Do, the Electropop of Sheng or the Rock of the Odds on Saturday »explains Simone canon. « All artists are promising. We nevertheless feel a particular fervor of festival -goers for Bennett, Zélie and the bitch of menhirs who return for the third time »says the manager.
And the Solex in all of this?
The three emblematic tests around the Solex are still there, to delight amateurs … and the others. The technical test of May 9 will include three exercises: slalom, coast and radar. Make way for endurance on May 10, with the most famous festival events which performs the pilots for five hours on a five -kilometer circuit in order to accumulate the largest number of laps. The speed will be queen on May 11 to close the festival. By hen and by category, the Solex will have to perform four laps as quickly as possible.
The races start from noon.
