Monday: It’ll be a beautiful day with plenty of sunshine and normal highs for Cinco de Mayo! Northeasterly winds will impact most of the region, with peak gusts mostly spanning 20-35 MPH. Winds will likely be lighter in the Cascades and Kittitas Valley.

Monday Night: Skies stay clear, and overnight lows will fall down into the 30s and 40s across the map. Winds will turn much calmer after 11 PM.

Extended: We’ll keep the forecast dry again on Tuesday, but a small shower chance is possible in the Cascades on Wednesday. This’ll be associated with a storm system that we’ll circle back to in a second. Otherwise, our forecast turns dry again for Thursday through Saturday, but mountain and foothill showers and thunderstorm chances could come back around by Sunday.

NOW let’s circle back to the ~mostly~ dry storm system for Wednesday into Wednesday night. Although impacts will be minimal from rainfall, we’ll likely see much bigger impacts from the winds–especially in the Kittitas Valley. This system will also take a toll on our high temperatures—albeit not a very significant one. Highs trend up to about 10 degrees warmer than normal for Wednesday, then cool back down to normal values for Thursday. After that, they trend back to values 5-10 degrees warmer than normal for Friday through Sunday.
