A building broke out at 4:30 p.m. in the historic Figeac center on Monday. Two people blocked in the building were evacuated.

A fire broke out in downtown Figeac, rue Séguier, right next to the Halle this Monday, May 5 around 4:30 p.m. It was in an old building in the historic center of the sub-prefecture that the flames began to spread, on the floor. At the foot of this building is the restaurant Le Thoutân Canon, opened barely a year ago.

The smoke spread from the first to the fourth floor, the entire building. The staircase, completely smoky, made any evacuation impossible from the inside for the inhabitants. The Figeac firefighters evacuated two people, a first blocked on the second floor and a second in the fourth, using an aerial scale. Two other people were also safe, a provisional assessment of four people involved. All those present in the building were evacuated and left on site by firefighters. Reprovers will be required.

At 5.30 p.m., the fire was not yet under control and the origin of the fire is currently unknown.
