The Christian and Socialist trade unions are again taking action against the policy of the federal government tomorrow. “Billions for weapons, crumbs for employees”, it sounds in a pamphlet of the socialist trade union. The Christian trade union lashes out to the “demolition government”. While wages remain frozen, employees will have to work harder and more flexibly, the ACV argues.
Actions are planned in various places in the country. The Belga press agency reports this. In Antwerp, among others, manifesters arrive on the street, just like in Ghent, Brussels, Hasselt and Roeselare. Also in the south of the country action is made, including in Charleroi, Tournai, Liège, Namur, La Louvière, Eupen and Verviers.
In addition to demonstrations, there will also be nuisance due to strike actions. For example, De Lijn already warned of disturbed services by the action day. Also at the NMBS there will be a stop on April 29, just like with the Brussels public transport company STIB. The action day will lead to nuisance on Brussels Airport, although that nuisance seems to be smaller than in previous promotions.
No major promotions are planned for other public services. Even in education, there is no strike.
