“My choice, in my head and in my heart, it has been made for several months,” said Rizqy Monday morning at a press conference in Montreal, stressing that she has known Pablo Rodriguez since 2013, when she took her first steps in politics.
Ms. Rizqy was herself asked to run for the PLQ’s head, an invitation that she declined to focus on her family. It is also in this perspective that she also announced last fall that she will not stand out in the 2026 general elections.
Regarding the PLQ chiefdom race, Marwah Rizqy is of the opinion that the party needs a person “who can bring together”.
“The day after June 14 [moment du vote pour élire le nouveau chef du PLQ]immediately we will have to bring together all the activists, it doesn’t matter who they have supported and we will not have much time because we will be a year from the elections and the PLQ will have to be United and solid to face an electoral campaign that will be decisive for Quebec, “she insisted.
Rizqy stresses that in 2026, in the next provincial elections, “Donald Trump will still be president of the United States and that Canada and Quebec will still be under threats”.
“When there is economic uncertainty, it takes us a strong, modern man who has a vision for Quebec and Canada, who is able to defend Quebec through all institutions.”

The deputy of Jacques-Cartier, Gregory Kelley, spouse of Marwah Rizqy, also gives his support to Pablo Rodiguez who now has ten liberal elected officials in his ranks.
The race for the chiefdom of the Quebec Liberal Party has five candidates, Pablo Rodriguez, Karl Blackburn, Marc Bélanger, Charles billion and Mario Roy.
Four debates are scheduled by June 14 vote in Gatineau, Quebec, Trois-Rivières and Rivière-du-Loup.
