Rory McIlroy’s been in the golf spotlight for nearly two decades for his success on the course. He’s won tournaments worldwide, including four major championships.
But for all the publicity and following he has inside the ropes, he’s tried to be intensely private off it.
That includes his relationship with his wife, Erica Stoll, and their daughter, Poppy.
Is Rory McIlroy married?
McIlroy, from Northern Ireland, has been married to western new York native Erica Stoll since 2017.
According to numerous reports, the two met at the 2012 Ryder Cup, when Stoll worked for the PGA of America, and started dating after McIlroy ended his relationship with tennis star Caroline Wozniacki.
-Does Rory McIlroy have children?
McIlroy and Stoll have a daughter, Poppy, who was born in 2020.
Both Stoll and Poppy have been part of the Par 3 Contest at the Masters and Augusta National several times, including Poppy making a lengthy putt on the ninth green on Wednesday.
Did Rory McIlroy get divorced?
He did not.
McIlroy had originally filed for divorce from Stoll in May 2024 but, ahead of last year’s U.S. Open at Pinehurst, he told The Guardian newspaper of England that he had withdrawn that petition.
“Over the past weeks, Erica and I have realised that our best future was as a family together,” the Guardian reported. “Thankfully, we have resolved our differences and look forward to a new beginning.”
