The geberit health equipment giant on Tuesday unveiled an increased turnover, but a net profit decreased in the first quarter.

(Keystone-ATS) Management highlighted the growth of volumes and highlighted an anticipation effect in wholesalers, due to the price increases announced for April.
From January to March, turnover advanced 4.9% over one year to 878 million francs, according to a statement published on Tuesday. In local currency, the increase is 5.3%.

On the map, Europe comes in the lead with revenues at 786 million (+4.7%). The Middle East and Africa region has displayed the largest increase (+11.1%), followed by America (+7.3%). Geberit highlighted the launch of new products, which boosted the volumes.
The gross operating profit (EBITDA) increased by 0.7% to 277 million, for a related margin of 31.5% after 32.8% a year earlier.
Net profit appeared at 187 million, down 1.6%. The company explains it partly by the charges linked to the closure of a ceramic plant in Germany, recorded in the first quarter, in the amount of 14 million francs.
These figures partially respond to the consensus of the AWP agency, whose analysts were tabling on revenue at 869 million, an EBITDA of 275 million and a net profit at 191 million.
For 2025, the management mentioned an uncertain macroeconomic context where demand should “overall stabilize after the strong drops recorded in the sector since mid-2022”. It did not give a quantified forecast.
