The Moroccan government renews the granting of an export bonus for citrus fruits, aimed at supporting exporters in the face of international competition and logistical challenges.
This measurement comes in a context where Moroccan citrus exports are subject to strong foreign competition, notably Egypt, but remain strong, with a forecast of 597,000 tonnes for the 2024/2025 campaign, an increase of 31 % compared to the previous campaign.
National citrus production should also experience a significant increase, reaching 2.1 million tonnes, thanks to favorable climatic conditions and the adoption of advanced irrigation technologies. Mandarins dominate exports, representing 83 % of the volumes planned, followed by oranges and lemons.
