The friends of the Wind of , a very association but which has already its cruise rhythm by honoring literature and especially the pleasure of reading. A successful bet for lovers of reading.

The association Les Amé.es du Vent des words, born October 17, 2024, offers enthusiasts of literature the opportunity to share their passion during meetings between occasional or diligent readers.

The members meet every third Thursday of the month, at 7 p.m., in the meeting room of the Grand Rio de Lannemezan for their reading club. These meetings are an opportunity to exchange around recent favorites and to explore together a variety of literary genres: thriller, novel, comic strip, poetry … The evening always ends with a friendly moment around a shared meal.

The friends of the wind of words are enthusiastically involved in transmitting the of books and culture. This emerging structure actively participates in local cultural life, by weaving links between readers, whatever their journey.

And success is already there. In less than six months, the association brought together nearly sixty members. With this dynamic, it multiplies projects. The college council is already looking to the future with ambition.

Reading in songs this Thursday at the Grand Rio

Next meeting: Thursday April 17 at 6:30 p.m., at the Grand Rio cinema in Lannemezan. A reading in songs will be offered there, freely inspired by Lydie Salvayre’s book, “We have always loved Sundays”, Prix Goncourt 2014. This text full of fantasy and depth celebrates the art of lazing, far from the constraints of everyday life: “We have always loved Sundays. In May of the book too

This animation is part of the May of the Tarbes book, organized from May 15 to 21, in partnership with the of Education and the Compagnie des Tréteaux. The author will be present to meet the public.

Friends of the Wind of Words will also participate in this event, especially through reading interventions in schools. A great opportunity for the association to continue its transmission and sharing mission.
