Books minds and the imagination. The volunteers of the intercommunal of Chassignolles, Céline Huvé and Joseph Jourdain, have worked together since 2020 to support the of their village by telling stories before letting them choose the book they will take.

Once a month, they welcome the two classes of the Charles Yvernault elementary school. Readings are carefully thought out.

“There is always a message”

Céline chooses the works according to her favorites, in connection with the themes addressed at school or others. “Even if there is not always an explicit morality, there is always a message”, she explains. Joseph, for his part, savor contact with youth: “The children at that age are very interesting, it brings me a lot. »»

The session of Tuesday, April 29 was devoted to the vote for the Escaps Prize. Each year, the librarians and documentalists of the department strip publications, once a month, they meet to make them , discuss them, defend their favorites. At the end, the selected works appear in a brochure bringing together some two hundred titles, broadcast with the libraries, booksellers and schools of Indre. An impatiently expected of the public, which will guide the choice of readings, a tool widely used for end -of -year gifts.

Children’s vote

Among all these titles, four are selected in each category for the Escaps Prize organized by the Aladin association which celebrates its 22e edition. School students are invited to vote for their favorite. This is what the students of Chassignolles did Tuesday April 29. Everything was organized in the rules of the art, under the attention of Céline Huvé and Joseph Jourdain, accompanied by the professionals of the Library of La Châtre. The town hall urn was installed and the children paraded one after the other to deposit their bulletin there.
