The book is feared and is currently treated with contempt by Jean-Luc Mélenchon and his relatives: The pack(1) is the result of two years of investigation, methodical and very informed, led by journalists Charlotte Belaïch and Olivier Pérou. The functioning of rebellious France is described there as being similar to that of a sect with “an adulated chief, zealous lieutenants, battles of influence and a dose of violence”.
The testimonies are numerous and very severe on Jean-Luc Mélenchon, a brilliant but anxious political, obsessed with being murdered like Jaurès, parano to loneliness. The triple presidential candidate is in permanent campaign, dismisses his friends of thirty years suddenly, and plots against his rivals on the left (the passages on François Ruffin are edifying).
He assumes to cleave to mobilize. On the contraryhe flatters the ambitious people who surround him and which are almost all young, without militant past, other than in rebellious France.
Harassment and threat
Two years from the presidential election of 2027, the publication of this investigation book which deciphers the rebellious strategy, with its share of harassment, threats and electoral ideology, is not good news for Jean-Luc Mélenchon, who will be 76 years old in 2027.
But the latter will console himself with the great hexagon and ifop investigation(2) Made public this Monday, which places the rebellious leader at the top of the voting intentions on the left. It would bring together between 10 and 13 % of the votes according to the different hypotheses tested (with or without ruffin, with or without the pen, with or without glucksmann).
For a candidate who arouses massive personal rejection in qualitative surveys, it is a very good starting base. “He has an electoral base. It is a ceiling and a floor, ”says Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol, number 2 of the PS, and who wants to become number 1 on the occasion of the current socialist congress.
“Not the ploucs of rurality”
He like the whole PS, no longer wants to hear about an alliance with Jean-Luc Mélenchon. The latter, who failed only 400,000 votes to be present in the second round in 2022, knows that the left is low outside the large metropolises. The investigation of The pack Long returns to the assumed objective of the rebellious to target the electorate of the popular classes. “Not the ploucs of rurality”, as Mélenchon says according to the authors, but that of the suburbs deemed “more faithful”, especially Muslims.
This strategy pays. Jean-Luc Mélenchon, according to the IFOP Hexagon survey, would collect between 58 and 59 % in the first round of the presidential election among the French Muslims. But that does not solve his second round problem: Jean-Luc Mélenchon would be beaten by the RN candidate to almost 70 %. The pack still has a little work.
