“Le Livre Sauvage” is published by the joint -stock company NHA NAM Culture and Communication in association with the publishing house of the association of writers. The work tells the story of Juan, 13, confronted with a terrible summer: he often makes nightmares, his parents separate … Worse, during the summer holidays, he must temporarily leave his familiar house and his friends to live with the uncle Tito – an eccentric person, living alone in a house full of books.
The apparently boring and solitary holidays have become more and more exciting, interesting and captivating when Juan realized that the books in his uncle were not normal. They move stealthily when nobody looks at. They change and steal the contents of the other. They only appear if they want to be read. It seems that books are the masters of the library.
It is even more special when Juan learns the existence of a book that has never been read, never finished and never published: the wild book. With the company of her new friends Catalina, Uncle Tito, Miss Eufrosia and three cats, Juan embarks on a trip to find a special book which, it is said, only arrives at those worthy. The unexpected adventure helps Juan to find a precious book and to discover many wonderful things about books and life.
The story is not only attractive because of its elements of adventure and fantasy, but it also transmits a deep message on the value of reading, the power of imagination and the healing power of books for the soul of children.
“The wild book” has become an international editorial phenomenon with nearly 2 million copies sold in Mexico, translated in many languages, adapted in Braille for the visually impaired and is being adapted to the cinema.
Regarding the publication of “Le Livre Sauvage” in Vietnamese, the author Juan Villoro said that this book is a tribute to reading. He was extremely happy when the book was translated into Vietnamese and wanted to have the opportunity to set foot in Vietnam.
