At this stage, Unia has not received any reports from victims. The organization will therefore contact the prosecution and the police, which conduct the investigation. “These are first steps to bring together a series of information and assess whether there is a discriminatory mobile behind this violence. What is difficult to conclude on the basis of videos alone,” said Anne Salmon, spokesperson for the center. “If we have evidence of the racist mobile of these attacks, we can then declare ourselves injured, propose our aid to accompany the victims and potentially constitute a civil party if there were a trial.”
Anyway, Unia firmly condemned the clashes that occurred on Sunday.
The Bruges club has also condemned the violence that involved Brugeois supporters. “The Bruges club will cooperate with the police to identify the people involved. Football must in no case be a coverage for violence,” he said.
