The young people of the BBD put an end to their season this Sunday, with, unfortunately, a defeat at the Agora against La Rochelle (75-76).
The U18 Elite du BBD will go on vacation with some regrets at the end of the meeting against their counterparts in La Rochelle. They lost it, once again this season, in the last moments.
The Boulazacois could not take revenge on the first leg concluded on a similar score (76-74). This would have enabled them to win an honorary second place in their group B, behind JSA Bordeaux. They therefore complete this second phase in third place, with five victories and as many defeats.
-The balance sheet of the season is however considered globally positive by coach Anthony Monset, even if the first phase left regrets: “We are disappointed not to have been able to fight with all our forces because of the injuries. But the second phase is positive and his team was still in the race for first place two days before the end: “We narrowly miss the qualification for the Final Four, this remains a nice performance. »»
Builded gateway
Another positive point, the gateway between the U18s and the U21s worked, with several elements that integrated the Espoirs training group. Some U18s were able to make the complete switch to the upper category, like Hugo Lasalvary, or participate in the Hopes playoffs for Corentin Pagès.
Next season, this U18 group will be widely reworked since several young people will leave the training center. The workforce will be rejuvenated and certain elements will have to assert themselves: “They will have to take the reins of the team and assume their leader status,” says the coach. It will be interesting. »»
