Embark on “A journey to the heart of love“. The daring theme of the France pavilion at the Universal 2025 exhibition makes you smile. The building which represents French culture and technologies at this world event, organized until October 13, 2025 on the island of Yumieshima, in Osaka (Japan), is” intended to be “A reception area open and accessible to everyone, but also a contemplative and initiatory architectural experience, with strong emotional resonance“said COLDEFY agency & Associés architects urban planners in a statement this Thursday, April 17, 2025, four days after the exhibition ceremony.
In collaboration with Cra-Carto Ratti Associati, the agency drew a large building with modern and refined architecture, within this event whose theme is “designing the society of the future, imagining our life of tomorrow”. A total of 160 countries and regions are represented this year, and welcome visitors (28 million hoped for) in their dedicated pavilion.
Coldefy and Cra-Carlo Ratti Associati imagined the building like “A ‘theater of life’, inspired by a staging where visitors would have both the role of actors and spectators. During their journey, they embody the symbiosis between humanity and its environment“Explains Coldefy. Architecture firms were inspired by the Japanese legend of Akai Ito, a concept based on the idea that two lovers are connected by a common thread hung on their fingers.”At a time marked by digital distance, the pavilion reconquer physical space as a support for dialogue.”
