Creating becomes as necessary as breathing for many people who want to express themselves. They are just as keen to show their works, hence the importance of the L'Art au daily show, a showcase for 81 exhibitors, half of which are from the region.
Graffiti works produced live
Known and recognized, this show returns for its 27the edition, but the second in this format with an important element, free. “The political will is to support it, to be alongside the creators. We even hope to go further, with more partnership with the Region,” underlines Iman Manzari, the assistant for commerce but also president of Tours events, the organizing company at her home, at the convention center.
Last year, nearly 10,000 people came over two days. This year, Monday November 11 is added as a bonus.
A space called “Nuggets” will promote street art this year with several artists known in the public square. A graffiti artist for 27 years, Monsieur Plume has evolved from the figurative to the abstract to give substance to works in full movement, symbols of society. A car entirely painted by him, a Fiat Panda renamed Stormzy, will also be on display.
He will create a large canvas during the show, just like Paf le Piaf, over three days on the square, with a canvas 4 m wide by 2.5 m high. This graduate in graphic communications and visual arts began by creating a small bird, his “blaze”, represented on the way to his son's school. She ended up calling on him to decorate it.
Discovery of artistic crafts
Another guest, Zelda Bomba will bring a feminine touch with her series of portraits, often of women, with bright colors, inspired by comics and counterculture. For the animation, Reiko, master of Japanese calligraphy, will give demonstrations. Creators will also talk about their work, like Anne François, a potter and ceramist who won the Center-Val de Loire regional prize for the creation prize at the Ateliers d'art de la France, in Paris. She created her piece, Fragmentation, in Langeais earth, a nesting work with five pieces, with different techniques and firings.
The public will also be able to discover the arts and crafts campus, with its presentations in watchmaking, tapestry, furniture and shoemaking. Young people from the Arsonval trades high school will present their training as cabinetmaker, upholsterer, interior decorator, decorative painter in building layout and finishing. Cuisine will be in the spotlight with pastries from starred chef Gaëtan Evrard, from L'Évidence, with his famous Paris-Montbazon, vegan cookies and lemon tarts.
