Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience, the immersive exhibition acclaimed in the four corners of the globe, will finally set up shop in Lyon. From the February 21, it's at Studio 24 in Villeurbanne that the master of post-impressionism will come to meet visitors, for a unique sensory adventure.
A total immersion in the world of Van Gogh
Carried by Exhibition Hub et Fever, the exhibition combines art and technology to offer a unique look at the life and work of Van Gogh. Do you think you know his Sunflowers or his Starry Night? Think again! Thanks to techniques such as anamorphosis and 360° video mapping, his paintings come to life, revealing unsuspected perspectives and details.
Among the main highlights not to be missed: the life-size reconstruction of The Bedroomwhere you can literally step into the picture; A space dedicated to Japanese influences of the artist; and a focus on his works from the South of Francewith masterpieces like Starry Night over the Rhône or Almond tree in bloom.
Spectacular animations and a journey in virtual reality
The experience doesn't end there. In a dedicated immersive room, more than 200 works come alive with sound and light thanks to a collaboration with more than 40 international digital artists. All enhanced by breathtaking video mapping technology. And to top it all off, virtual reality will transport you directly into eight of his iconic paintings. Imagine walking through wheat fields or under a swirling sky… Magical, right?
Finally, let your creativity shine during an interactive workshop. Not only will you be able to create your own work, but also project it in large format into space. A fun and memorable way to end this artistic journey. A highly anticipated event which should attract tens of thousands of people to Studio 24 in Villeurbanne.
