We’ve had a lot of fun with it, but it seems it’s time to leave this neutral, yet comforting shade aside… for the summer season at least. And which ones will replace it?

Located between white and brown, the beige color is as soft as it is soothing. With its warm shades with yellow or pink undertones and its cold shades with grayish undertones, it is not surprising that we love it so much in decoration. Often used to create a serene and welcoming atmosphere, it is timeless, elegant and sophisticated, in praise of (re)comfort and it has this warm side that cannot be taken away from it.

Despite all these qualities, it could well be that the arrival of summer, which has finally decided to show its face, pushes us to choose other shades to brighten our hearts and our interiors. As evidenced by the latest trend report unveiled by Pinterest, a social network with more than 500 million monthly users worldwide. If we are to believe the searches carried out by Internet users, a trend is emerging and we had – a little – seen it coming.

If it has been everywhere in recent months, the fashion for beige will fade to give way to more pronounced colors, a guarantee of vibrant and personalized interior decoration. Which seems to inspire Pinterest users, since searches for “vitamin decoration” have increased by 280%. The time of beige interiors, sometimes considered bland and standardized by some, would be over. Internet users aspire to more colorful spaces, in line with their personality. But it’s not a goodbye to beige, just a goodbye, time to enjoy the beautiful season.

And if you want to ride the trend and bring a touch of freshness, welcome in case of strong heat, to your interior decoration this summer, without falling into things that are too marked, here are some colors you can bet on. On the pastel side, we can only recommend that you opt for mint green, soft coral, pale yellow and a beautiful lavender too. Without forgetting that you can absolutely add patterns with large stripes, ideally horizontal and vintage touches too.

Enough to create an atmosphere that tells a story while bringing a feeling of nostalgia, which we love so much. More daring, even saturated, colors are also possible, like a fuchsia pink, a Majorelle blue or a punchy orange. The main thing is that you feel good at home and that your interior brings you joy!
