This Breton photographer wins the prize for best photography of the year 2024

The competition of Photographs of the year, organized by the Agency for the Promotion of Professional Photography in France (APPPF), revealed its winners during the Salon de la Photo in ParisOctober 10, 2024.

Three prizes for the Guillon studio

Among them, the studio Guillon Photography of Ploërmel (Morbihan) caused a sensation by winning three prizes: best report, best wedding photo, and best photo all categories combined.

“I had the idea for this photo before marriage with the bride and groom. After the opening of the ball, I had them come around a table to pose with the guests who wished. It was one of the last photos of the day,” reveals Jean-François Guillon.

And regarding the report on the Ploërmel horse races, the photographer continues: “I made this report for fun. 20 years ago, I already worked on punters. The idea was to show everything there is around the races. I find this atmosphere very photogenic. »

Complementary duo

Nathalie and Jean-François Guillon have stood out with works that combine creativity and technique.

Jean-François captures the highlights while Nathalie devotes herself to post-production, a team effort born from a common passion that has lasted for 35 years.

The studio Guillon Photographs offers portrait, family and child photography, and wedding reports for which registrations are open. The photographers also cater to professionals and also offer a classic film and photo print development service.
