PEOPLE – The “Prince of Pop” arrested while driving. American singer Justin Timberlake was arrested by police while driving drunk on the night of Monday June 17 to Tuesday June 18 in Sag Harbor, New York. The global star was driving a BMW 2025 when he ran a stop sign and veered into an oncoming lane of traffic, reports CNN.
Photos of him handcuffed circulated this Tuesday, June 18 on social networks and in the Anglo-Saxon press, as you can see in the tweet below from the British newspaper le Daily Mail. Indeed, after ending his night at the police station, the singer appeared immediately before the New York courts this Tuesday.

According to the police report to which CBS had access, the 43-year-old singer and father of two was “ in a drunken state “his “ eyes bloodshot, while his breath smelled of alcohol”. The star reportedly replied to the police officer that he had “ drank a Martini and followed (his) friends home”.
A police officer also said that Justin Timberlake “had slowed speech, was unsteady, and performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests,” reported on Twitter the journalist of the American channel CNNElizabeth Wagmeister, specifying that the singer refused three times to perform a breathalyzer test.

The one who is often nicknamed as “the Prince of Pop” was finally released without bail and will be tried for this offense on July 26, indicated TMZ this Tuesday at the end of the day.
The incident, which took place around 12:30 a.m., caused no injuries. This arrest comes about a year after the singer’s interview with famous journalist Oprah Winfrey during which he admitted to having a problem with alcohol and pledged to find help.
Justin Timberlake rose to prominence as a member of the boy band NSYNC (1995-2002), then his career took off when he went solo as a songwriter, producer and actor. He has notably won 10 Grammy Awards and four Emmys, the Oscars for music and television.
The singer of international hits “What goes around”, “Sexyback” or “Cry me a river” is currently in the middle of touring for his latest album “Everything I Thought It Was”. He is scheduled to perform Friday in Chicago, but his fans are currently shrouded in uncertainty.
