Kristen Stewart is announced in numerous projects after “Love Lies Bleeding”, including her first series on astronaut Sally Ride, the first American woman to go into space.

Currently starring in Love Lies Bleeding, project announcements are multiplying for Kristen Stewart. We take stock of the films and series in which she is expected.

His first series: The Challenger

For her very first series, entitled The Challenger, she will play astronaut Sally Ride, the first American woman to go into space.

In 1978, the physicist was selected to NASA’s group 8 of astronauts. A historic group in many ways since it is the first selection to include women, a black and Asian astronaut, as well as a married couple.

According to DeadlineThe Challenger series is adapted from the book The New Guys written by Meredith E. Bagby and produced, in part, by Steven Spielberg’s company, Amblin, and that of actress Kyra Sedgwick. The project is intended for the Amazon Prime Video platform.

A return to the vampire film!

From Twilight to Flesh of the Gods! Return to vampire films for Kristen Stewart. The actress is announced in the new production of Panos Cosmatos, which will be a thriller with vampires.

The plot takes place in the 80s, in Los Angeles. It follows a couple who leave their luxurious life every evening to have fun in the world of the night… until they meet a mysterious woman, who will drag them into “a surreal and glamorous world of hedonism, thrills and violence“.

This couple will be made up of Kristen Stewart so, and Oscar Isaac. The screenplay is by Andrew Kevin Walker, known above all for having written Seven by David Fincher. Filming on Flesh of the Gods is expected to begin later this year.

An escape to “Sacramento”

Already filmed, and just released in the United States, Sacramento brings together Michael Angarano, Michael Cera, Maya Erskine and Kristen Stewart. Rickey and Glenn improvise a trip from Los Angeles to Sacramento. This is a first feature film directed by Michael Angarano, seen notably recently in Oppenheimer by Christopher Nolan. The film was presented at the Tribeca Film Festival. No French release date yet.

A futuristic romance with Steven Yeun

In 2025, Kristen Stewart will star in Love Me. This is also a first feature film, here from Andy and Sam Zuchero. She shares the bill with Steven Yeun (The Walking Dead, Nope). The film premiered at Sundance earlier this year.

The pitch of this futuristic romance is as follows: Long after the extinction of humanity, a buoy and a satellite meet online and fall in love. The French release date has not yet been communicated.

From one biopic to another…

We could see Kristen Stewart in the skin of Diana Spencer, and soon in the astronaut outfit of Sally Ride, the first American woman to go into space (see above). We could also see her in the guise of the novelist and activist, Susan Sontag. We still know little about this project, except that it should take a hybrid and experimental form. It will be directed by Kirsten Johnson.

A remake of a classic of Italian cinema

Kristen Stewart, Josh O’Connor and Elle Fanning should come together under the direction of director Karim Aïnouz for a project called Rosebushpruning. It will be a contemporary version of Marco Bellocchio’s Fists in the Pockets.

Finally, let us point out that Kristen Stewart has explained, since 2018, that she wanted to take the plunge into directing a feature film, the adaptation of the book The Chronology of Water, the memoirs of American author Lidia Yuknavitch. The project is reportedly awaiting funding.

The actress, awarded a César in 2015, has been showing in France since June 12 in Love Lies Bleeding by Rose Glass, an explosive thriller about the muscular romance between a bodybuilder and a gym employee.
