Did you know that Courteney Cox began her career with Bruce Springsteen? Ten years before filming the first episodes of “Friends”, the American actress was spotted to star in the music video for the song “Dancing in the Dark” directed by Brian De Palma. Despite her very brief appearance, the actress, then aged 20, was extremely nervous at the idea of going on stage with the Boss.
“Bruce Springsteen is so great. My God, he is incredible. I love this song. I’m a little embarrassed when I watch this clip because… have you seen the way I dance? It was pathetic. I’m not a bad dancer but it was so horrible, I was nervous,” she confided on “The Howard Stern Show” in March 2022.

She added: “I walked into Brian De Palma’s office. He put on the music and said “Dance”. And I was like, “Now? Right away ? Facing you? Just the two of us ? » I think that’s why I was chosen. I think that’s what they wanted: a fan who didn’t realize what was happening to her. » However, the clip won the award for Best Stage Performance in a Video at the MTV Video Music Awards.
