An exhibition not to be missed under any circumstances for nature and animal lovers. To be discovered thanks to the lens of Nathalie Forgues until November 22 at the Media Library.
“Regards Sauvages des Pyrénées” is the name of the exhibition by photographer Nathalie Forgues, a discreet and humble artist who prefers to highlight the subjects whose images she captures to better introduce them to the public. A young woman who is passionate about the nature that surrounds her and who has learned to enhance it with her shots over the past ten years: “I started on my own, I saw a few tutorials on the internet and I I have friends who referred me to it. I started by taking landscape photos because I do a lot of hiking, then with the roar of the deer since I come from a family of hunters, fishermen, gatherers, who have the ability. taste and respect for nature. As far as I am concerned, I preferred to arm myself with my camera.
A great idea which for years has provided fabulous images of the inhabitants of the nearby environment that the photographer has learned to know and preserve in order to better present them to the public: “For example, there are fox corners, I know roughly where they are like deer or even ibexes, I can say that I have my spots and I go there when I have time.” Nathalie Forgues, who also works in a chocolate factory, speaks of photography as a “passionate profession”: “It’s not something I do to make money, I have a self-employed business for that. for 2 1/2 years to be able to do exhibitions, sell calendars while being legal.”
“I like meeting people, interacting with them”
Exhibitions are also an important moment for her, a moment of sharing with the public, something that the photographer loves and which makes her happy: “I like meeting people, exchanging with them, making them aware of nature, the protection of animals that live there, that's what enriches me. I love showing what I see and that some people are not used to seeing, like forest cats for example. Many people don't know they exist. such animals in our nearby environment.
A love of nature that she also wants to share with the youngest and, during the exhibition, children from CP and CE1 and the Paul Baratgin school will be invited to an exchange on Thursday, November 21.
At the end of the year, Nathalie Forgues is also offering calendars for sale, with sublime photos, already available: “The model is different this year with larger and much more visible calendar grids. There is a different animal each month, which corresponds to the month of the meeting, I have also added a famous quote under each photo. I undertake to donate €1 for each calendar sold to a nature protection association. Practical details can be found on Nathalie Forgues' Facebook page.
