According to information from RMC Sport, actor Tom Cruise will be one of the stars of the closing ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, on August 11 at the Stade de France. The headliner of “Mission Impossible” carried out filming for this very special sequence which should allow a shift towards Los Angeles 2028.

After two weeks of competition throughout France, on Sunday August 11 at 9 p.m. the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad will close. In the IOC specifications, a moment is always planned for the future host city. In the shadows, the organizers of Los Angeles 2028 are reflecting on this moment which should allow a shift towards the next Olympics. For example, during the Games in Tokyo, Paris showed a film where we saw BMX on the roofs of buildings in the capital.

According to our information, Tom Cruise will be one of the main characters of this closing ceremony. On the night of April 25 to 26, the American actor was spotted in the streets of Paris by onlookers. On his motorbike, hair blowing in the wind, the star of the “Mission Impossible” saga took turns in the small streets of the capital, near the Arc de Triomphe. A tracking car drove in front of the actor at full speed on his electric motorcycle, with an important detail: a white flag at the back of the motorcycle.

The actor carried the flame to Los Angeles in 2004

Widely relayed on social networks, this scene caused Internet users and the media to react. The link was quickly made with the filming of “Mission Impossible” which will be released in 2025. But the American actor was not there for that. Tom Cruise was in the middle of filming a sequence which should allow, during the closing ceremony of the Games at the Stade de France, to switch to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics. The white flag should allow inlays in post-production, a process already used on the Eiffel Tower in June 2021 just before the passage with Tokyo. That evening, the actor was also spotted on the Bir-Hakeim bridge, located between the 15th and 16th arrondissements.

The resources put in place for this filming were less important than those deployed for the filming of a film like “Mission Impossible”. With Tom Cruise as the star of the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games, the latter finds a real flavor. The show proposed for these last moments is always less impressive than at the opening ceremony. And for the record, this is not the first time that Tom Cruise has participated in an Olympic event. In 2004, the actor carried the flame… in Los Angeles just before the start of the Athens Games.
