The Quercy Bouriane community of communes (CCQB) and the municipality of Saint-Clair organized an opening as part of the regional cultural project “From water from here to water from there”. Each year, a painter exhibits an original series reproduced on a tarpaulin on the theme of water. For the 2024 edition, Patrice Carpentier is the guest with her collection entitled “Écumes”.

This cultural event caused a sensation among locals and visitors. No less than 80 people came to admire the works on display, from September 27 to October 3; an impressive figure for this modest village. This cultural experience thus marked a turning point in local dynamics. It demonstrated that even in small communities, collective initiatives can attract attention and generate strong commitment.

It must be said that the torments of the ocean evoked by Patrice Carpentier are so realistic that it seems to you that even the sea spray will splash you; A thousand stars constellate the foam offering exceptional light. The artist staged the story of the Lost World of Tethys and Damona (read our edition of Thursday September 19). In addition to artistic interest, this event encouraged exchanges and meetings, and increased social ties in the small town by offering a space where art could play a unifying role.

Residents, like local artists, hope that this event will be the first in a long series, conducive to energizing the life of the commune while strengthening ties between its members. This success therefore promises great prospects for the village of Saint-Clair, which could become a privileged place for cultural and convivial meetings in the months to come.
