A Ukrainian strike in territory occupied by Russia left at least two dead and 13 injured in the Kherson region (south) on Monday, according to the Russian agency Ria Novosti. The Russian army also said it had intercepted 31 Ukrainian drones on Monday.
At the same time, the Russian army continues its push at different points of the front, having claimed Monday the capture of Shevchenko, south of Pokrovsk, a key town for the logistics of the Ukrainian forces, as well as Novoiegorivka, in the Lugansk region.
Russian troops, who have been advancing for months against Ukrainian forces lacking men and less well armed, are now about six kilometers from the Dnipro region.
‘Following the bombing of the village of Bekhtery, two adults were killed and 13 people were injured. Among the injured are three children,’ Vladimir Saldo’s press service said.
The manager, for his part, spoke on his personal Telegram channel of ‘deaths’ and 13 injured.
‘Two attacks’, carried out by the Ukrainian army ‘with cluster bombs’, ‘took place near a school where children and teachers were going to class’, lamented Mr Saldo.
The town of Bekhtery is less than 50 kilometers from the Ukrainian-controlled city of Kherson, across the Dnieper River, which serves as a natural demarcation in the region between the Ukrainian and Russian armies.
In Russia, an oil depot in the Voronezh region (west) was still on fire Monday morning, five days after being hit by a Ukrainian drone strike.
‘In some areas the fire has been eliminated. In others (…) the intensity of the flames has decreased. At the same time, work continues to prevent the fire from spreading, said regional governor Alexander Gusev.

Videos, published by Russian media and on social networks, showed a major blaze on the site in recent days.

For their part, Ukrainian forces claim that 141 Russian drones targeted their territory during the night, of which 93 were intercepted and 47 others ‘lost’.
Ukraine regularly strikes military targets and energy sites in Russia, in response to the Kremlin’s daily strikes which have devastated its territory since February 2022.
