Several systems, but few results. Forecast.
Catch-up mode
Slowly, but surely, Quebec is making up for the snow deficit on the ground. Since winter conditions took hold, several systems have passed and certain sectors have greatly benefited, notably Estrie. Even in Montreal, the situation has improved in recent days with around ten centimeters littering the ground at the Trudeau airport station.
Several occasions
Between now and Sunday, several small systems should sweep across some regions of Quebec. Some would generate more accumulations than others, but mostly weak disturbances come from Alberta. These depressions are generally not very full of humidity. Intermittent light snow is expected this Wednesday, especially for the Estrie and Beauce sectors.
Next round
Another system could generate a trace of snow this Thursday in western Quebec. This is a very small disturbance and accumulations would not exceed 2 cm.
Snowy weekend
Next weekend, a third disturbance could generate more appreciable accumulations. Currently, models estimate that its trajectory is likely to favor regions north of the river.
The lucky sectors
While some areas are drowning in snowfall, others are impatiently waiting for it. This is the case of the North Shore and Gaspésie. Moreover, these systems should not generate significant accumulations between now and Sunday. However, northwestern Quebec could receive around fifteen centimeters in places.
