Review of the 2025 action plan

The Steering Committee of the “Marrakech, Sustainable City” Program held, Friday at the headquarters of the wilaya of the Marrakech-Safi region, a meeting devoted to the examination of the projects scheduled for 2024 and the action plan under the year 2025.

Chaired by the wali of the Marrakech-Safi region, governor of the prefecture of Marrakech, Farid Chourak, this meeting was an opportunity to emphasize the need to achieve harmony between the “Marrakech, Sustainable City” program and the other programs in progress or which will be carried out in the coming years, in the service of better efficiency and good governance.

Emphasis was also placed on the importance of intensifying efforts between the various stakeholders with the aim of enriching the program and meeting the challenges linked to its implementation, while emphasizing the need for better coordination between all parties concerned, indicates a press release from the wilaya of the region.

In a speech on this occasion, Chourak reaffirmed the constant commitment of Morocco and the Marrakech-Safi region, in particular, to sustainable development, particularly of Marrakech due to the historical and civilizational scope of this imperial city and its natural and environmental potential (the ancient medina and the oases of the Palmeraie among others), which must be preserved for future generations.

During this meeting, marked by the participation of the representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the vice-president of the Municipal Council of Marrakech, elected officials and representatives of external services, the emphasis was , in addition, emphasized the importance of cooperation between national and international institutions with a view to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), concludes the press release.
