A neighbor told FBI agents that Brad Spafford had discussed the possibility of outfitting his home with “a 360-degree turret for a 50-caliber gun on the roof.”

The suspect was charged with illegal possession of a rifle and would likely face additional charges for possession of explosives, punishable by up to 10 years in prison, according to prosecutors. In a separate document filed Tuesday, Brad Spafford’s lawyers requested his release, presenting him as “a good, hard-working family man with no criminal record.”
