The plane fell near the city of Aktau in western Kazakhstan, according to the Kazakh Ministry of Emergency Situations.
“The airliner flying from Baku to Grozny crashed near Aktau. This plane belongs to the airline Azerbaijan Airlines,” the Kazakh Ministry of Transport said in a statement.
