Mons-Quévy police fine a group of “garland cars”: “These light decorations can cause dangers”

First good news, out of 764 drivers tested, none were positive for alcohol or illicit substances. Twelve immediate perceptions for GSM while driving, four immediate perceptions were necessary for crossing a light in red phase, 26 for lack of technical inspection and 6 for general condition of the vehicle non-compliant

In addition, 2 immediate collections were required for non-compliant registration, one for immediate collection for a non-compliant trailer. A fine for lack of insurance and technical inspection with seizure of the vehicle was drawn up as well as three others for lack of driving license with immobilization of the vehicles. The agents also wrote a fine for non-compliance with the maximum dimensions and unloading of agricultural machinery. 12 SAC fines (municipal administrative penalty) were also issued for wheels on the sidewalk in the city center.

Please note that this Friday, December 20, a gathering of garland vehicles heading towards the Frameries area was supported by our teams from the Traffic Department. They carried out a systematic verbalization (16 immediate perceptions) and an obligation to dismantle on site. “We remind you that these light decorations are prohibited and that they can cause a danger such as the risk of fire due to an electrical problem by makeshift and/or amateur assembly, difficulty for firefighters to open the hood or the doors when case of accident or even divert attention from other uses and therefore cause accidents.”
